Level II: Advanced Facilitation
CENTERINGPREGNANCY
This two-day interactive workshop provides health care providers and staff with a group experience while learning about the CenteringPregnancy program of group prenatal care. The training supplies the basic information needed to begin CenteringPregnancy group care including the theoretical framework, how to facilitate groups, and system operational aspects impacted by this new model of care. Demonstration, discussion and practice opportunities draw upon individuals' experiences and address site-specific needs.
The greatest assurance for the success and sustainability of a CenteringPregnancy program is when the workshop is included in a comprehensive implementation plan that provides expert support and guidance over start up and the early adopting period.
Participants receive 12 credit hours (1.2 CEUs) from the American College of Nurse-Midwives.

CENTERINGPARENTING
This two-day interactive workshop trains healthcare providers and staff in the CenteringParenting program of dyad care for moms and their babies during the first year of life - and beyond. The workshop includes demonstration, discussion and practice in how to provide group well-baby and well-woman care under the Centering model. Information will include how to facilitate groups and address system issues related to implementing this new model of care. Learning will draw upon individuals' experiences and will address site-specific needs.
The greatest assurance for success and sustainability of a CenteringParenting program is when it follows an existing CenteringPregnancy program or is part of a comprehensive implementation plan that provides expert support and guidance during start up and the early adopting period.
Participants receive 12 credit hours (1.2 CEUS) from the American College of Nurse-Midwives.
There are currently no Parenting workshops scheduled at this time.
CENTERING LIFECYCLE
This interactive workshop provides an overview of the Centering model and prepares healthcare providers and staff for a group care approach to a range of health conditions. Diabetes groups are the primary example, but with content modification the model is applicable to most chronic care areas. The workshop includes demonstration, discussion and practice in how to provide group care for various chronic illnesses and conditions. Training will address individual and site specific interests and needs.
The greatest assurance for success and sustainability of a CenteringLifecycle program is when a site has an existing Centering program or is part of a comprehensive implementation plan that provides expert support and guidance during start up and the early adopting period.
Participants receive 12 credit hours (1.2 CEUs) from the American College of Nurse-Midwives.
There are currently no Lifecycle workshops scheduled at this time.
Level II: ADVANCED FACILITATION WORKSHOP
This interactive workshop is for facilitators who have experience leading Centering groups. Training includes assessment of facilitators' current practice and builds on individuals' knowledge and skill base. Discussion and practice includes strategies for common group challenges, difficult conversations, and techniques to improve facilitation skills. Exploration of games and exercises allow participants to find tools within their personal comfort zone to enhance group participation. It is a unique opportunity to share experiences and solutions with others and to learn from them.

Participants receive 7 credit hours (.7 CEUs) from the American College of Nurse-Midwives.
